We are seeking an accomplished Control Systems Engineer to join our vibrant team at a premier marine engineering consultancy. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and deployment of resilient control systems architecture tailored to the specific demands of our marine engineering endeavours.
  • Assess and advocate inventive hardware and software solutions to enhance system efficiency within the maritime sphere.
  • Implement security-centric designs to safeguard critical maritime systems and data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security protocols pertinent to marine engineering.
  • Foster seamless collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including marine engineers and Naval Architects.
  • Remain abreast of emerging technologies, ensuring our systems remain scalable and secure amidst the evolving landscape of marine engineering.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Control System Engineering and System Engineering Processes and Practices, encompassing a comprehensive understanding of Systems Lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing resilient and scalable systems architecture.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Aptitude for integrating and verifying combinations of technologies into cohesive systems that fulfil customer requirements logically and systematically.
  • Experience in autonomous vehicle control or equivalent fields.
  • Understanding of methodologies such as hardware in the loop testing, simulation of embedded systems, SCADA, and PLC programming.
  • Competence in participating in trials, troubleshooting, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts effectively for diverse audiences.
  • Meticulous documentation skills to maintain records of system configuration, processes, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated capability in scoping, planning, and managing complex projects.
  • Capacity to mentor and contribute to the technical growth of junior engineers.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the relevant industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BEng, BSc) in a Numerate, Scientific, or Engineering discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Eligibility to obtain SC level security clearance.
