Please be aware that in this digital era, extra vigilance is always useful to ensure one does not fall victim to fraud.
A legitimate staffing agency will never offer / ask for payments before you are deployed on an assignment. Look out for these telltale signs of potential fraud:
Fraud Indicators
- E-mail address for the initial offer is not from “@iic.com” domain. Slight variations are deceptive.
- E-mail address of the recruiter is not from the “@iic.com” domain. Recruiters will not correspond from their personal email addresses.
- Recruiter offers an upfront payment with a “kickback” to you (Note: this is a variation of the classic check overpayment scam).
- The company name is spelt incorrectly.
- Recruiter requests payment from you.
- Some aspects of the job offer seem too good to be true.
