Shift Work Details: 10 AM-6 PM
PR: $32.50/hr on W2
 
Job Description:
The HVAC/R Technician utilizes their strong mechanical and electrical skills to provide an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration-related equipment in an industrial environment. Provides instruction and assistance to other technicians as needed. 

Responsibilities:  
Performs preventative and corrective maintenance to a wide variety of facility and process related equipment.   Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, pumps, fans, chillers, freezers, coolers and refrigerators, dryers, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary.  Utilizes the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment.  Utilizes Automated Building Controls training to respond and provide service/feedback to the customer on all work orders, hot and cold calls while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.  Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).  Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.  Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.   Works safely with 3-phase power up to and including 480V.
•   Troubleshoots and diagnoses electrical circuits ranging from 24VAC/DC and up including lighting and load centers.
• Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.  Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.  Maintains a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
•   General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.  Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
 
Minimum Requirements     
High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Two years of experience as an HVAC maintenance technician in a pharmaceutical, medical, laboratory or related industrial grade environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. An active EPA Universal certification.
Ability to work in a highly regulated environment and diagnose and troubleshoot ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, and more.
Strong mechanical skills learned through previous work experience and the ability to work safely with 3-phase power up to and including 480V.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of large building HVAC systems and their mechanical/electrical controls.
Ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
Ability to obtain site specific security access including all applicable background checks.  
Ability to work overtime when required, including holidays and weekends.
Ability to obtain an appropriate driver`s license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
  
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in HVAC, industrial mechanical, industrial electrical, or a related skilled trade, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and more.
Experience performing pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and millwright related work.
Experience programming, troubleshooting and/or repairing HVAC with building automation systems (especially Honeywell/Siemens) in an industrial or research facility environment.
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Energy Management systems is a plus.
Knowledge of building automation system software supporting HVAC, water, steam, and power distribution (such as Honeywell and Siemens) is a plus.
