Project Scope: Going from Postgres 11 à 14 (Processing inbound and to the applications)

Development Methodology: Agile – 2 week

High-Level Individual Duties:

• Performance Analysis – about 10 instances under a single cluster (a few outside)  
  • Using Hibernate as an ORM, so they need someone who gets how that would impact performance
  • Indexing / Caching
• DB Monitoring – Continuous eval (AWS tooling…they want to use some of the Postgres native tools – our person needs to show HOW)
  • Offer solutions for alerting as well
• Scaling – want to double in size à where are we running today? If we double in size in these areas, XYZ is going to be a scalability issue and we need to do ABC
• Replication – Change Data Capture (Debezium – not necessary)
• Query optimization

Others…

• Partitioning
• DML / DDL
• Adding Query Hints
• Reading Execution Plans
• Rebuilding Indexes
• Building Data Sets
