Role: Aircraft Engineer | Mechanical

Location: Middle Wallop, Hampshire, On-Site

Role Type: Contract | 6 months’ ongoing

Salary: £33 an hour / plenty of overtime available

Job Description:

Our client is a leading supporter of major UK programmes including Apache, Chinook, C-17, P-8A, and Wedgetail, employing over 1,400 workers. They offer engineering sustainment and support for UK armed forces aircraft, along with training. By combining their UK defence business with global strategies, they're well-equipped to tackle UK defence and security challenges.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform assembly, disassembly, and modification or repair of Ch47 aircraft primary structures and complex aircraft systems.
• Conduct maintenance activities, fault diagnosis, and disturbed system functional tests at multiple locations.
• Ensure established process adherence, accurate and timely work recording, and contractual/regulatory compliance.
• Provide mentoring to peers and work under minimal direction.

What You Need:

• Extensive experience working on Rotary Wing Aircraft and familiarity with specifications and drawings.
• Experience in working within a team of aircraft technicians.
• Vocational-based trade training.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision with limited direction.

Preferred Experience:

1. Chinook / CH47 platform mechanical experience with specifications and drawings
2. Other military Rotary Wing Aircraft mechanical experience is a definite positive
3. Different commercial Rotary Wing experience may also be considered

Work Authorisation: This position does not have sponsorship approval. It is a locally hired position in the UK, and candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Our client will not attempt to obtain immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants.

Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance, for which the Government requires UK Citizenship.
