Purpose of the Role

To produce a Business Continuity plan and a Disaster Recovery Plan for the business.

The role will involve partnering with a range of stakeholders to ensure that NEBOSH is prepared for both Business Continuity and Disaster recovery scenarios.

In addition, other supporting documentation may be required.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with different departments to identify operational risks facing the company and its day-to-day operations.
  • Review current risk contingency plans to ensure suitability and determine acceptable downtime for critical functions (RPO and RTO)
  • Where gaps have been identified, prepare risk contingency plans for critical processes working with the relevant department.
  • Review and revise the Disaster Recovery Plan, taking into account the essential resources (people, equipment, systems, processes) needed to continue with operations and document all of the procedures, roles and responsibilities involved in the recovery process. 
  • Prepare Step-by-step work instruction for restoration of key processes.
  • Identify any gaps in current measures which would resort in a service, system, data, or process not withstanding a Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery scenario.
  • Update the business continuity plan, referencing the disaster recovery and risk contingency plans and ensuring it is fit for purpose.
  • Plan scenario testing to test the useability of the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.

Knowledge and understanding

At least 3 years of experience working in a business analysis capacity.

Knowledge of the Veeam backup and restore application and the ability to produce relevant documentation for these technologies

Knowledge of Microsoft Servers (2008 – 2022)

A deep understanding of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans and a proven track record of producing technical documentation

Knowledge of risk contingency planning and preparation of risk contingency plans

Knowledge of system integration

 
Experience

Experience of using Business Analysis models.

Experience of using improvement techniques and frameworks.

Experience of working within an IT environment
