Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client at its state-of-the-art facility at London Gatwick Airport (LGW). We are seeking an experienced Quality Systems Specialist: Lead Auditor with a robust background in Airplane Line Maintenance, Heavy/Base Maintenance, and/or Aircraft Modification. The successful candidate will lead the Audit and Personnel Board Approval activities as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the Annual/Monthly BCASEL audit programme, covering internal audits, suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage the authorisation process for Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Stores personnel.
  • Assist in developing audit scopes, schedules, and plans to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, working under minimal supervision.
  • Policy and Procedure Review: Assess company systems, policies, and procedures, and provide recommendations to the management team.
  • Present audit findings and concerns to relevant personnel or representatives of suppliers/service providers.
  • Investigate non-compliances thoroughly, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative actions are taken.
  • Ensure all audit findings are addressed with adequate corrective and/or preventative actions.
  • Monitor and close occurrence reports, review trends, and communicate these to the management team.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities to resolve quality and safety matters.
  • Produce internal reports as required.
  • Assist stakeholders in analysing process data, metrics, models, and flows to identify root causes of complex problems and support the development and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Work as part of both the local and wider teams and/or customer teams.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Lead Auditor Qualification, formal qualification with substantial experience in conducting internal and external audits.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Line/Heavy/Base Maintenance and/or Airplane Modification environment.
  • Familiarity with EASA, UK CAA, and/or FAA regulations.
  • Experience in working with regulators and customers, interpreting their requirements for safety and compliance monitoring.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Strong ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficient with standard office software.
  • Willingness to take on diverse tasks and complete them efficiently.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Must be able to obtain an LGW Airport airside access pass.
  • Must have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Human Factors Qualification, relevant qualification and experience.
  • Understanding of workplace and operational safety.
  • Familiarity with the Q-Pulse compliance management system.
  • Experience in data mining, analysis, and presenting findings.
  • Experience with Safety or Quality Corrective Action/Preventative Action, Root Cause Corrective Actions.
  • Experience in developing and producing performance metrics.
