Introduction:

The Technical Engineer serves as the primary liaison for our client’s production staff at London Gatwick during the preparation and execution of customer maintenance inputs. This is a rotating 12-hour day shift position based at our London Gatwick Hangar facility.

Responsibilities:

  • The Technical Engineer is responsible for triaging and resolving technical queries promptly, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company procedures. This may involve liaising with OEMs and customers.
  • Represent the Gatwick team at all necessary customer meetings and work closely with the Production Planning Team to ensure plans are effectively executed.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customer technical representatives, ensuring their requirements are met.
  • Contribute significantly to the development and implementation of new procedures and project work supporting our continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance for Boeing’s Line and Base maintenance operations at London Gatwick.
  • Offer an escalation path for all technical queries related to any supported Line or Base maintenance at London Gatwick.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and/or CAMO during maintenance activities.
  • Perform technical assessments of customer-provided work scopes to ensure they are within capability, considering required skills, tooling, access requirements, NDT, etc.
  • Oversee the transcription of customer/CAMO maintenance data into approved work packs, ensuring accuracy of all supplied data.
  • Communicate with the OEM/Type Certificate Holder on behalf of the customer when necessary.
  • Collaborate with production planners to aid in the planning and execution of maintenance inputs.
  • Assist Production Planning during periods of sickness and leave.
  • Monitor compliance through sampling.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a Base Maintenance/Modifications Technical Services role is highly desirable.
  • Experience with the AMOS system is preferable.
  • Prior experience accessing online Boeing documents through myboeingfleet.com.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Experience with major structural and/or avionic modification inputs is desirable.
  • Preferable experience working with 737, 787, and/or 777 aircraft.
  • Hold an EASA Part-66 B1 and/or B2 Licence and/or Aircraft Engineering Degree.
